Tammi it all depends on the state you live in to what rights grandparents have. Very few states have grandparent rights. And in most states a third party can not intervene unless there is probable cause. My parents are going through a custody battle with my sister and they where allowed to intervene BUT only because they have raised my niece since birth and she is now 7 years old. If I was you I would contact a Family Law Lawyer for a free consultation.
